Scout Sunday and Blue and Gold Banquet

Posted on Jan 16 2010 - 8:45am

This is our opportunity to appeal to the cub scouts at an early age and tell them how cool Boy Scouts is and how much we are looking forward to them joining the troop.  It is important to remember how much the cub scouts look up to us, so coming to their event will be very important to them and will make a lasting impression.  I need responses from EVERYONE--please let me know if you will be able to stay for Blue and Gold so the Cub scouts can plan to have the right amount of food, and let me know if you can provide service at the mass, I have to tell Kitty Maas who will be providing service so she can verify they are trained.

Cast Iron Cooking

Posted on Oct 10 2009 - 9:44am
As many of you know I really enjoy cooking food in cast iron. The steady temps that the pans retain makes it easy and fun to cook all types of food. Additionally, the flavor one gets out of cooking with cast iron is second to none.

GLCJ Crew Returns

Posted on Sep 27 2009 - 7:37pm

We had a great time at the Centennial Jamboree. Over 10,300 scouts and scouters attended. The weather was fine and we dodged the rain entirely. Thanks to all of the scouts, parents, and pack members who attended. A big thank you to Mr. Wall who was the other adult leader on the trip and to our Alligator patrol members - Ben Lucarelli, Rory Tisdel, and Nick Shellander - who were there for the whole weekend and did lots of hard work. Our cooks - Rory and Ben - (with some critical shopping assistance from Mrs. Lucarelli) made sure everyone ate well - including our table for twelve at dinner on Saturday at Chez Troop 16.
